How to choose a corporate gifting company in India
Most gifting vendors look the same on a website. Ten questions, asked before you place the order, separate the ones who will deliver on time with a correct invoice from the ones who will not.
Choosing a corporate gifting company usually happens in a hurry: a festival is close, someone searches, three vendors send catalogues, and the one with the nicest PDF wins. The problems show up later, as a delayed delivery, a logo printed in the wrong colour, or an invoice finance cannot book.
All of those are predictable, and most can be screened out with a few direct questions before you commit.
On price
- Is the quote landed? Ask for the per-unit price with GST, branding, packaging and delivery included, line by line. A unit price with everything else to be added later is not a quote.
- What is the minimum order per product? Minimums vary a lot between vendors, and a low headline price sometimes comes with a high minimum.
- What happens to the price if the quantity changes by 10 percent after approval? Lists move, and you want to know now.
On branding
- Will you see a mockup of every product with your logo before production starts? The answer should be yes, and nothing should be produced until you approve it in writing.
- Which branding method will be used on each item? Printing, engraving and embroidery look very different, and the method should suit the product.
- Can you see a physical sample for large orders? For an order of several hundred units, one sample is worth the few days it takes.
On delivery
- What is the realistic time from approval to delivery, and what is it during the festive peak? Ask for the second number specifically.
- Can they deliver to many individual addresses, not just one office, and will you get tracking for each parcel?
- What happens when a parcel arrives damaged or a recipient is unreachable? A clear replacement process matters more than a promise that it will not happen.
On paperwork
Finance teams care about one thing above all: a correct GST invoice in your company's name, with your GSTIN, HSN codes and tax shown properly. Ask to see a sample invoice before ordering. A vendor who cannot produce a clean one will not get better at it under festival pressure.
Signs to be careful
- Prices that only arrive on a call and change between calls.
- No written approval step for branding.
- Delivery timelines that do not change with the season. Everyone is slower in October.
- No single named contact for your order.
A note on choice-based gifting
If your recipients are spread across cities, or you cannot collect sizes and addresses in time, ask whether the vendor offers redemption links. Each person picks their gift from a range you approve and enters their own address. It removes the two slowest steps in any gifting project and avoids sending the wrong size.
